A four-part collaboration between Yahoo UK and Black Ballad for Black History Month 2021, looking at the perspectives of Black women around the UK in the hair, skin and beauty industry. I was part of the Wales and Northern Ireland shoots, preparing questions and interviewing the women about their experiences.

The team traveled to meet Ify, founder of Nassurel with a focus on natural self care. She started her business after being diagnosed with a skin condition and discovered the nourishing effects of shea butter on the skin.

Equality & The Hunt for Hair Products in Wales

Coco would have to travel between several shops around Wales to find all the products she needed for her hair growing up. With increasing demand for a comparatively small supply, she is asking the hair and beauty industry to expand the market to cater for others like her in Wales.
